2013 Vinyl sales show largest increase since 1999

 

Last summer, it looked like vinyl sales were making a comeback.  After Record Store Day in April, the numbers were up over 2012, but words like “cautiously optimistic” were used to describe the general mood of vinyl sellers. According to Nielson Soundscan’s tally released in January 2014, record sales actually jumped 33% while album sales overall fell by about 8%.
